Hello, we have been out of karting for some years now, but still like to follow the forums to see what has or is changing in the sport. We karted in Hamilton with its ups and downs, but had fun. We do know about the problem with canada stars program, dont know if it ever got resolved, none of business, but we hope it did to everyones satifaction. has the track in hamilton been changed as planned? I believe I read that Trevor has taken over some of the karting business at CMI, might have read that wrong. Maybe you could fill in the blanks as far as what your club is doing, but do not run down anyone elses club, you are all in it for the same reasons.

good luck with the upcoming season....enjoy it and make it memorable

Yes Trevor and Menotti are now running Prime sport out of Hamilton. No real changes where done to Hamilton track. Looks like from what I have read the Hamilton club may be real strong this year. Hopefully with auto industry turning around karting can grow this year.

thanks for the information. I think the two of them will do a great job. Are they running the entire complex? Rookie series, or just the karts and parts. Glad the club is going strong.

I must give a shout out to the Waterloo Kart Club - hard core, long term racers with a long history. If you don't mind getting up EARLY on Sat morning your driver will learn a ton here, assuming they still do inverted grid (stock car) style race days. My son Chris raced with them in early 2000's and it was an invaluable part of his race training.

As a bonus, you can stick around and watch stock car racing in evening.

That can't be right! Isn't his father one of the owners of the Primesport team? One might take this move as if all is not what it seemed on the outside..

Your kidding right? So part of the registration fee for the ECKC went to one paticular club? That would very upsetting that one club was given a bonus to run when the other clubs were not?

I don't believe Enrico is racing for anybody besides Prime. Can anyone confirm the rumour?

He is intrepid now,is that not clear enough for you Reg. Frank was a willing pawn in Bobs plan and if anyone thinks anything out of Hamilton is above board then you are a @&$@&$ loser.wake up people, stop supporting this thief and join a real club.Trevor needs to join another team and relocate cause he is starting to stink aswell. Oh and thanks Frank for helping Bob perpetuate his scam, you make me sick bag licker.

Man this guy (Boob) is still leaving a bad odour in karting in Ontario. Why do people continue to support the Hamilton facility. Anyone connected (business wise) with this place is suspect in my opinion. Some people will never learn until their pockets are empty.

Wow

Just heard a bit more today. Sad. Retired from karting after just a couple of races this yearn and it still seems likes it was a good idea. Don't need the hassles.

To all you normal karting people out there enjoy the sport. We still miss it to a degree but to be perfectly honest with you weekends at the cottage have been awfully enjoyable as well.

I will admit I won a really nice dinner since I predicted the trainwreck months ago.

Reg, who's buying you dinner? And to think I said Prime was a separate entity to.... you know.

I've told Bob to stay home and I would run the whole show at Cameron/HRKC. He doesn't think I can do it. Hamilton needs a little DD :D

It seems that things have not really changed that much in Hamilton since we where involved. In my opinion, there is really only one way to change things. Again in my opinion, all the teams would have to pull out of CMI and join other tracks. no teams/drivers = no cash flow = changes as appose to empty promises. I know this will not happen, but until the flow of money flow stops, change will not take place. Despite many reasons for people to get into karting, one thing is common, the money... for one side, it is only about the money.

the opinions expressed are those of mine and do not necessarily reflect those of the the participants....

The karting gods continue to keep the ball spinning hard. Even though I'm out I somehow find it necessary to keep coming back to the forums to read the latest scuttlebutt. The person I bet about Frank and Prime will remain un-named but we are getting ready for a nice dinner at the Keg.

I certainly hope the best for Prime and Frank and hope them all success in whatever direction they go. The Hamilton facilities are great and I actually had a associate mention he watched some of the televised races! That shows that somebody not involved or interested in the sport had some exposure to it through the broadcast.

We miss all the sounds/smells and people for sure but surprisingly enough it has been a manageable ache. I don't miss paying the "Karting" mastercard off every month but it's not like we seem to have extra money now! We have played with the idea of stock car racing at a economy class level but I have always said that the great thing about karting was the size of everything. Easy to store, tow etc. It's may be hard for some to believe but we can go economy stock car racing at a fraction of the cost of karting. Oh well we will just have to wait and see. I said we were out of motorsports when we retired from karting and I need to remind myself of that sometimes.

If I think back over the last few years it's amazing the tenacity that karters have. SOC series and the minimum 80 thousand dollars of karter money wiped out (nobody jump on me for my 80K guess it may be more - I don't know) Series competing for karters when realistacly there should be just one. Wars between track owners. Loss of major events. The list could go on and on I expect.

Whatever happened to the importer of the SOC karts? Does he still sell parts and karts etc. Is the dream of a fully functional and reliable kart from China still alive? is Enzo still involved in the project. How about the engine builder guy? It really dosn't matter to me other than I'm curious. I ended up pratically giving away my SOC kart just to free up the real estate it was taking.

Anyhow - Should go back and fake working....
